Fall Beauty tips - Eye Appeal

Yes, hard to believe but summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner.  The kids are back in school.  Now it is time for some "me" time for us moms.  Here are some fall beauty tips for this year that I ran across on the web:

This fall Eye looks are all about turning heads — and making it look effortless.

All Aglow

• Gold highlights look great on post-summer sun-kissed skin. Apply golden eye shadow to brow bones and the inner corner of your eyes. This is a great daytime look.
• Define your eyes with brown eyeliner on both the top and bottom lash lines.
• Sweep on brown or clear mascara to warm up the look.

Natural Beauty

• Earth tones like bronze, chocolate, burnt orange and evergreen are popular fall eye-shadow colors. Try a cream-based shadow — it leaves more color on the lid.
• Curl lashes to add volume to your fringe.
• Complement these eye-shadow colors with brown eyeliner and mascara — it’s a softer look than using black.

Go Big With Eyeliner

• Use eyeliner to create a dramatic effect. Experiment with lining lower lids and the inner corners of your eyes. Try liquid liner for precision with staying power, or smudge pencil liner for a smoky effect.
• Make every lash count. Apply a lash conditioner before sweeping on a few coats of black mascara.

Create Mystery

• Go dark with gray, purple or even black eye shadow. Choose carefully depending on your eye color, and apply sparingly.
• Apply matching liquid eyeliner to your lids, just above the lash line.
• Blast your lash curler for a few seconds with your hair dryer to warm it up. Curl your lashes. Then, apply two coats of high-volume black mascara.

Southern Summer Beauty Tips

Living in the South means that you have to deal with the summer heat and the humidity. It is not an easy task to keep your makeup looking fresh all day in this type of climate. I am listing a few summer beauty tips to help us Southern women….
Foundation
Keep your foundation thin in warmer weather. Your skin tone will change, so don't be afraid to buy a bottle of your favorite brand in a darker color and mix it to match your skin. If it is too heavy, add some water or moisturizer to thin it out a little bit.
Eye Shadow Tips
Lighter makeup accentuates a dark tan. The new eye shadows available today give shimmer and glide on smoothly. Combine a lighter creme eye-shadow with light lipstick or lip gloss and you'll have an instant, updated summer look.
For longer lasting makeup, apply pressed powder to your eyelids to soak up any additional oil before you brush on the eye shadow. This will also help "set" the powder and prevent creasing.
Mascara
Today's mascara isn't near as conservative as it was years ago. With brushes, colors and formulas available for just about every situation, your choice today is much easier whether you're a blonde, brunette or redhead.
Summer may be the only time you need waterproof mascara. For exercising or swimming, use the waterproof formula to prevent the dreaded "black eye" syndrome. Even if you don't anticipate the need, keep some on hand for that impromptu invite to the lake or beach.
Lips
Cool mauves, rose and pinks are the summer trend for lips. Fill in sparse lips with a lip liner that matches your lips and go just beyond your lip line to add fullness. For a daring look, try classic red, which never goes out of style.
Pucker up your lips with a lip plumper which will increase collagen production and deliver instant moisture. Designed to make your lips larger and decrease fine lines and wrinkles, this is a win-win situation. Apply some lip gloss to add volume and dimension and your lips will never look so good!
