Summer Beauty Tips

Before applying make-up use a good brand of sunscreen lotion having at least a SPF of 15. Most moisturizers have in¬built SPF content. Applying a good sunscreen before applying moisturizer is a must.

Wash your face often with a good, soap-free preparation. Avoid oil-based foundations as they are prone to more dirt, which makes your skin oily. You should also avoid heavy make-up in summer. There is a huge variety of good water-based products on the market.

Dabbing powder helps you by reducing the oily look of your shiny face. For others, apply on your T -zones. During the summer drink plenty of water and maintain an easy diet by replacing spicy and oil food with lots of fruits and salads.

Use a creamy lipstick during the summer. You can reserve the darker shades for evening. Glossy light ones are preferable for those nude looks.

Use a Water-proof eyeliner. This will help avoid smudges. Use a powder eye shadow not cream-based.

Before using blush or mascara, use adusting of powder for absorbing oils in foundation and also preventing discoloration or streaking. By applying powder before mascara your lashes will look thicker and won't smudge.

Why Your Skin Needs A Salt Glow

A salt glow can bring forward refreshed, glowing, and revitalized skin. A salt glow can be performed at home. The exfoliation process sloughs off dull and dry skin, revealing your fresh and renewed layer. A salt glow is also the perfect way to embrace the changing seasons, as it generates heat and natural moisture for some increased benefits.

During the colder months, your natural circulation and metabolism can slow down significantly to accommodate for the changes in temperature. As a result, it’s beneficial to stick with a consistent exercise regiment, as well as staying well hydrated. With the growing desire for most of us to cozy up by a fireplace or other heat source for hours at a time, skin can dry up very quickly and easily. It’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, as well as moisturize with a healing and skin-strengthening body butter on a regular basis. Shea butter is an excellent source for some vital skin nutrients, and Vitamin E additions will help your skin’s elasticity.

A regular salt glow, even as little as once per month, will reveal a fresh layer of skin instantly.

You can now give yourself a Salt Glow treatment in the privacy of your own bath with one of our New Natural Salt Glows. We carry a Citrus Salt Glow or a Lemongrass Salt Glow.

Chocolate Milk To Lose Weight??!!

I was reading an article the other day that said to drink chocolate milk to help lose weight. The article stated to drink an 8 oz. glass in the morning, an 8 oz. glass before you worked out and an 8 oz. glass after you worked out. A study was done with a group that drank the chocolate milk every day and a group that did not. The group that drank the chocolate milk performed 49% better during their workout than the group that did not drink the chocolate milk. Imagine that! Of course, it is a well known fact that drinking milk helps you build muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories that you burn. Of course, the chocolate milk has to be 1% or Nonfat milk. I am definitely going to give this a try.

Healthy Glowing Skin

Living in the hot and humid climate of Texas takes a toll on my skin. It is important to follow the tips below to keep your skin healthy and glowing!

1. Include plenty of raw foods in your daily diet, like fruits, salads and sprouts.

2. Drink plenty of water to keep your system well flushed of toxins, and wastes.

3. Daily exercise helps to improve blood circulation to the skin and facilitates the elimination of wastes.

4. Adequate sleep is a must for good skin. The process of repair and renewal is enhanced during sleep.

5. Take time to relax. Stress can trigger off many skin problems.

6. Avoid smoking and alcohol. They deplete the body of the essential nutrients and are skin agers.

7. Protect your skin with moisturizer and sunscreen when you are out of doors, to counteract the damage caused by the sun’s ultraviolet radiation and chemical air pollutants.

8. Never neglect night-time cleansing of the skin, to remove the grime, make-up and pollution that have collected during the day.
