Product Spotlight - Natural Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub

Today I am doing a Product Spotlight on our Natural Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub!

Our Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub is made with a mixture of organic cane sugar, sweet almond oil, lemon juice, pure honey and lemon essential oil.

Honey is used to soften and heal the skin tissue and help attract moisture to the skin. Lemon Essential oil is a good remedy for increasing the luster of dull skin. It is astringent and detoxifying in nature, and rejuvenates dull skin. It is also recommended for oily skin.

Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays, supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple. One of the most common natural skin care benefits with honey is related to treatment of minor acne which could be caused by hormonal changes or "heatiness in the body", as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) would call it to refer to the imbalance of yin and yang in the body. Honey absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.

Lemon essential oil is commonly used for various skin conditions. The antibacterial effects treat cuts and wounds on the skin so they can heal. Lemon essential oil soothes itchiness caused by bug bites. It relieves eczema and similar skin conditions and improves signs of aging on the skin, such as age spots. Lemon oil is also good for acne, due to its antibacterial and astringent qualities. Since it is astringent, it can improve oily skin.

Honey Almond Oatmeal Goat's Milk Soap

Our Goat's Milk Soap gives skin strength and suppleness; restores vitamins, minerals and proteins; softens and rejuvenates skin, giving it a more youthful appearance. In addition, we have added oatmeal to help exfoliate the skin. We then fragrance the soap with Honey Almond Essential Oil.

Beauty Tip with Honey

Silky Skin Toner

Place a half cup of honey, 2 cups of buttermilk and a half cup of rosewater in an air-tight container. A Tupperware with a screw-on lid works great. Shake up the mixture until it is thoroughly blended. It will be runny and a cloudy color. You can apply it with a cotton ball for tight, toned skin.

This recipe is best when used with Organic Honey.
