Benefits of A Salt Glow

Salt Glow treatments are a hot new trend at Upscale Spas.  A salt glow can bring forward refreshed, glowing, and revitalized skin. A salt glow can easily be performed in the privacy of your home.  The exfoliation process sloughs off dull and dry skin, revealing your fresh and renewed layer. The salt glow is considered an invigorating procedure. It’s known to increase blood circulation, improve lymphatic circulation, and aid in detoxification. Overall, the salt glow has a rejuvenating as well as a cosmetic effect.  A salt glow is also the perfect way to embrace the changing seasons, as it generates heat and natural moisture for some increased benefits.
How to give yourself a Salt Glow treatment:
Apply the salt treatment, slowly massaging it over the body.

Once you have completed massaging the salt all over your body, step into the shower to rinse off the excess salt. Soap should be avoided since it can remove the protective layer of oil remaining from the treatment. Body lotion can be applied lightly to help seal in the glow.

Precautions

It’s recommended that you avoid waxing, sunbathing, or shaving the day before, the day of, and the day after a salt glow treatment. It is recommend that you allow at least 1 1/2 hours after eating before having this treatment. This allows time for your body to metabolize food.

Why Your Skin Needs A Salt Glow

A salt glow can bring forward refreshed, glowing, and revitalized skin. A salt glow can be performed at home. The exfoliation process sloughs off dull and dry skin, revealing your fresh and renewed layer. A salt glow is also the perfect way to embrace the changing seasons, as it generates heat and natural moisture for some increased benefits.

During the colder months, your natural circulation and metabolism can slow down significantly to accommodate for the changes in temperature. As a result, it’s beneficial to stick with a consistent exercise regiment, as well as staying well hydrated. With the growing desire for most of us to cozy up by a fireplace or other heat source for hours at a time, skin can dry up very quickly and easily. It’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, as well as moisturize with a healing and skin-strengthening body butter on a regular basis. Shea butter is an excellent source for some vital skin nutrients, and Vitamin E additions will help your skin’s elasticity.

A regular salt glow, even as little as once per month, will reveal a fresh layer of skin instantly.

You can now give yourself a Salt Glow treatment in the privacy of your own bath with one of our New Natural Salt Glows. We carry a Citrus Salt Glow or a Lemongrass Salt Glow.

Problem: Dry patches on elbows, knees and feet

Treatment: A coffee, sugar and vanilla scrub. Coffee has strong antioxidant properties. Because of this, it is a good choice for the rougher skin on your body, while sugar works as a light manual exfoliator to smooth skin. Vanilla extract adds a soothing scent for at-home aromatherapy.

Using it: In the shower, let skin soften under warm water for 5-10 minutes. Scoop out a small handful of the scrub and massage it in circular motions from your limbs to your heart to increase circulation. Rinse and follow with a gentle shower gel to remove excess residue. DO NOT use this scrub on your face or on any broken or sensitive skin.

Use the scrub once a week for regular skin. If your skin is quite dry and bumpy, twice a week is recommended.
